STEP – Student Trainee Exchange Programme
STEP is the trainee exchange programme of ELSA that enables law students and young lawyers to complete law related and paid internships all over Europe and even beyond. By taking part in STEP, all ELSA members have the possibility to gain cross-border practical experience as well as to getting to know the culture, people and language of another country.
The traineeships last between two weeks and two years and can take place in any law related area like law firms, courts, public institutions, banks, in-house legal departments, consulting firms and international organisations. Before and during the traineeship, ELSA provides assistance with finding accommodation, applying for a visa (if necessary) and organising social events to involve the trainee in the daily life of the local community.
STEP offers a wide range of different traineeships. On the international STEP homepage step.elsa.org you may find all current traineeship offers and the respective application deadline. In case the application deadline has already expired, you should stay tuned for new offers: STEP traineeships are published twice a year, meaning that the next possibility to apply will arrive quite soon.
